Martin Harper

Martin joined Aquaseal Rubber on the 6th of September 2023, as a Production Manager. His day-to-day consists of starting work at 8 am, where he discusses the objectives with the team members and any snags they may have that need addressing. He then spends most of his day looking through emails, following up with any production-related issues, updating the production schedule, and also looking at sales, orders and quoting customers on their requests.

One of Martins’ biggest achievements in his career so far is winning awards in implementing Kaizen, where he studied business improvement techniques, and studied for his Yellow belt in Six Sigma. Another stand-out project that he worked on was to look at the Not Right First Time, where he set a target to improve this by 4%. Martin and his team then went on to improve the NRFT by 23%.

Martin mentions that he enjoys wearing different hats throughout the day, from mentoring staff, managing site health and safety, dealing with sales queries, and driving production to be completed correctly the first time. He ‘sees longevity within Aquaseal rubber, and the opportunities to grow as a professional’.
