Aquaseal create replica post-war car parts for Triumph Roadster Club
17th September, 2019
Aquaseal recently worked with Triumph Roadster Club to help with the creation of parts for car restoration. Members of the club are owners and those interested in the Triumph Roadster 1800 and 2000 cars, manufactured between the years 1946 and 1960. The club is volunteer ran and is a point of reference for sourcing spare parts and providing technical information on the restoration of the classic Roadsters.
Many of these cars were produced just after the war and parts are becoming harder to come by, therefore many must be re-manufactured. Precise replication of the parts was essential to make sure that the cars would operate smoothly and blend in with the existing body of the vehicle.
After receiving the original brief, Aquaseal worked with the client on developing the items to make sure they’d be the best fit. We started by working out the correct material to offer, based on our existing knowledge of the industry and the properties of different rubbers. After sending multiple samples for approval, we got to work on creating the parts.
Members of the club are dedicated to their cars and it was great to hear that they were happy with the results.
Peter from Triumph Roadster Spares provided us with some excellent feedback:
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Aquaseal for the great work they carried out for the Triumph Roadster Club. We have worked twice with Aquaseal on two items – rear bump stops [pictured above- new stop on the right] and rear bumper steps [also pictured above].
They have both been manufactured to a high standard and all our members who have purchased these parts have been very pleased with the results. So much so we have just ordered our second batch, including a carburettor air hose, front bump stops and master cylinder support rubbers”
Aquaseal has enjoyed working on this interesting project and has since created rebound bumpers, air transfer box seals and cylinder support rubbers for the club. A few images of these products can be seen below:
