Replacement Rubber Mound Pads for Underground Transport

Over the last months, we have been busy expanding our offerings and working with a variety of clients that come to us looking for bespoke solutions and this past project has not been any different.

We were approached by a customer looking for replacement rubber mound pads for an underground transport system, which was based on a 40-year-old material specification sheet and product drawings.

The material requested was BS1154 70 shore. This material is a rare hardness for natural rubber, so we worked together with our colleagues specialising in raw materials to help manufacture this hardness rubber.

A few days later we found that our raw material colleagues can make the specified rubber with the correct hardness within 7-10 working days. Due to the application of the rubber pad, additional anti-ozone protection was added to the mix, so the rubber lasts as long as the originals.

The samples were moulded in-house by our moulding team and passed along to the customer for inspection. Our product passed intensive customer testing and matched all specifications, so we proceeded with the project. The customer was pleased with the product, its size and the quality of the rubber used, and was left at ease with the anti-ozone protection add on, as the products will last as long as the originals have, if not longer.

We proceeded to manufacture 250 off each mound pads as shown, and they then placed 3 more successful orders with us.
