Ship Hatch Covers

Enquiry

The enquiry came in with the customer sending us a photo and the question “Can you make this?” After replying with a yes, we gathered product specifications and provided a cost and lead-time for the hatch packing.

Natural rubber and sponge was chosen as the material for this project. This is what the Aquaseal door packing is made from. It is made in the UK by Aquaseal Rubber Ltd only and the construction is special designed for the watertight door and hatch used in the marine environment.

Delivery

As the customer was based in Lithuania, communication was via email and a few phone calls over a two month period which resulted in us winning the order and manufacturing could commence as soon as we had won the job. This project had a particularly challenging customer lead time as well as the special size of the door that the packing was required for.

Results

At the end of this project, we had a very satisfied customer who has since returned for another set of seals for his second ship.
