Eddie Armstrong (1941 – 2020)
16th October, 2020
It is with sad news that we inform all our customers and suppliers that Eddie Armstrong passed away on Sunday 5th October 2020 of COVID-19.
After being diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia back in 2018, Eddie struggled with the symptoms getting progressively worse and when the pandemic hit, he agreed the safest place for him would be in a care home. He moved into a lovely care home in Newcastle where he was very well looked after and the staff loved him. We have struggled with visits to see him over lockdown but we did manage to have over the fence visits which brought that cheeky smile to his face and cheered both him and the family up.
Eddie started Argus rubber engineering back in 1972 with five of his friends. He continued to grow the business even when others decided that it wasn’t for them. Eddie tried to employ as many family members and friends as he could over the years and we still have family members today at Aquaseal.
Eddie and his late wife Sylvia leave behind a strong family trail, with 5 children, 13 grand children and 21 great grand children who will miss him dearly.
The funeral will take place on Tuesday 20th October 3pm at Tynemouth Crematorium and is being cast live over the internet for anyone who cannot attend:
